Physical and Mechanical Properties of Tungsten Alloy

Tungsten alloy has a series of excellent physical and mechanical properties, mainly embodied in the following nine aspects:

1. High density:The density of high-density tungsten alloy is generally 6.5 - 19.0g / cm3, that is equivalent to more than two times of the density of steel.
2. High tensile strength: The tensile strength of the sintered WNiFe high density alloy is 800 - 1000MPa, and the strength can be increased to 1300 - 1500MPa. after hot treatment and deformation processing.
3. Good ductility: WNiFe high density alloy has good ductility, and its elongation can reach 10% - 15%. When it is treated by vacuum or atmosphere dehydrogenation, the elongation can be increased to 20% - 30%.
4. The good absorb radiation ability: The absorb radiation ability of the high density alloy is 30% - 40% higher than that of lead, and its stability is better than that of lead.
5. Good electrical properties: WNiCu, WNiFe high density alloy has good electrical conductivity, corrosion resistance, high voltage resistance and so on.
6. Good thermal conductivity and low coefficient of linear expansion: The coefficient of thermal conductivity is 5 times of the die steel, while the coefficient of linear expansion is only 1 / 2 - 1 / 3 of iron or steel.
7. Good corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance.
8. Good weldability: The high density alloy can be brazed with steel and silver solder, which can be plated.
9. Good machining characteristics: Because of the good ductility of WNiFe high density alloy, it can be used in machining such as turning, milling, planing, threading and tapping, as well as large deformation strengthening such as rolling, swaging and forging.
